Your horse cannot tell you where it hurts.Movement often can.
Horses are honest in how they move. Changes in stride, muscular tension, flexibility, symmetry, sensitivity or recovery are often the first things an owner notices — long before anything looks obviously wrong.
Those changes can have many causes. Some are simple: a change in workload, a new saddle, a hard week's competing. Others benefit from a closer look. A professional assessment considers the whole horse and its work, and helps you decide what, if anything, needs to change.
Equine therapy supports, and does not replace, veterinary diagnosis or treatment. If you have a concern about your horse's health, speak with your vet.

KS Equine Physiotherapy is run by Katie Salmon from Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Travelling to horses and yards throughout Ireland, Katie focuses on muscular function, comfortable movement, recovery and welfare.
Every horse is treated as an individual. Work begins with the horse in front of her — its history, its workload and what its owner has noticed — rather than with a fixed routine.
Is your horse trying to tell you something?
These are observations owners often bring to an assessment. They are not symptoms of any one condition — each can have many causes, and some warrant veterinary assessment first.

- 03

Understanding what lies beneath the movement.
Performance begins with comfortable movement.
A horse that is comfortable can use itself properly. A horse that is not will find a way to do the work anyway — and that way is usually a compensation.
